Our History

ECFC Salinas

El Camino Futbol Club (ECFC) was established in 2017 in Salinas, California. Its formation was led by the inspiration and leadership of the late Richard E. Mussallem II. Richard was very instrumental over the previous years in starting another local competitive youth soccer club in our county. His experience along with the guidance of our Technical Director Sergio Herrera and other consultants, helped pave the way for the start of ECFC.

Both assembled a support team comprised of individuals with deep soccer roots in Salinas. Most willing to volunteer and be a part of this amazing organization. Today many of them remain active as coaches, volunteers, and board members.

While our club initiated 2017, our club administrator’s experiences in competitive youth soccer dates back over 20 years. We are a club dedicated to the constant creation of new opportunities for our youth, providing a pathway for players with aspirations and dreams of playing collegiate soccer and beyond.

What began with 11 teams, we have  expanded to over 30 teams of boys and girls Under-7 through Under-18, that’s over 500 active youth players.
